the art of woodcarving are to be found in the Lhasa Tsuglakghang constructed during the reign of king songtsen Gampo. The Tibetan traditions of wood carving that have flourished since at king songtsen Gampo at least the 7th century. Wooden Table painting represents yet another branch of Tibetan art. Its subjects and pictorial composition are similar to those of thangka and the difference is that the pictures are drawn on wooden table of various shapes. These beautiful engravings lavishly decorate the columns, beams, door, windows and crossbeam supports in Tibetan monasteries and temples. Shrines, platforms seating deities, altars, stupas and some ritual objects are often adorned with wood carving. I am Passang Topgyal and studied on middle school. Before complete my middle school, due to necessary and desire of society, I have willing to learn Tibetan traditional art of woodcarving in Norbulingka Institute for six years. Within the short period, for my concentration and hard work on woodcarving skill.
From my experience skill level and analysis on carve.The various or different carve skill was able to produce to the society. The high admire and appreciated by society and people, especially these willingness learn on carve skill's students able to teach and teaching process is still gone on.
